Memento remake

Why Hollywood why?

We know that the film industry is full of remakes but a lot of the time they tend to be of older or horror/slasher films. Now though they have decided to remake Christopher Nolan's Memento from 2000 and seriously, what is the point?

You could ask what is the point of any remake really but at least with some of the older films it introduces them to a new generation and with horror/slasher films it brings them back from the dead, no pun intended.

With Memento though the film is only fifteen years old and is both commercially and critically acclaimed as well as still being fresh in peoples memories, especially with Nolan going on to direct the recent Batman trilogy.

A main concern is the cast. Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano are good actors and it's going to be hard to find someone who can offer something new to the roles without having to cast people a lot younger.

Like The Crow remake I really do think that this is an absolutely pointless remake.
